At 13:07 on July 22, 2023 (Beijing time), CERES-1 Y6 rocket carrying two commercial satellites, Qiankun-1 and Xingshidai 16 (Tai’an), was successfully launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The rocket smoothly entered into the planned orbit and the launch was a complete success. The PST3S K4 series star trackers are serving on both Qiankun-1 satellite and the Xingshidai-16 satellite.

Independently developed by CSpace, the, Qiankun-1 satellite is the China’s first Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) technology demonstration satellite, which uses the TYSpace star trackers PST3S-H5. The Qiankun-1 will complete long-term stable VLEO flight operations at orbital altitudes of 300 km, 268.13 km, and 250 km according to mission requirements, and break through extremely low orbit altitudes to complete short-term flight operations tests. First time, the multiple key technologies and experimental tasks in VLEO will be verificated in-orbit via the application of the Qiankun-1. It is a historic application in the field of VLEO space technology in China, and paving the way for the future development of VLEO intelligent spacecraft.

Developed by ADASpace, the Xingshidai 16 (Tai’an) is a hyperspectral remote sensing satellite, which uses the Tyspace star trackers PST3S-H4. The satellite is equipped with its self-developed blockchain payload, which will perform the world’s first visualized blockchain in orbit certification and commercial services, and launch a series of space computing content applications such as the world’s first space digital life platform (interstellar eternal passengers).

Tyspace Technology is a leading enterprise in the development and production of star tracers in China. Designed for small satellites, Tyspace PST(pico star tracker) series star trackers are currently the world’s smallest and lightest, low-power, fully autonomous system, and high-precision star trackers.TYspace Technology also provides customized services to meet different types of satellite applications. Successfully applied to the Qiankun-1 and Xingshidai 16 in orbit, the PST3S-H4 and PST3S-H5 star trackers have real-time image transmission function in orbit.

In 2023, with the booming development of China’s satellite industry, Tyspace ‘s star tackers have also been rapidly and widely used. By far now over 300 units are successfully operating on-orbit.
